Menopause Therapies & Tips to help ease symptoms
Let’s talk Menopause! Not many of you know that I offer Holistic Menopause Treatments in Halifax and as October is World Menopause Month and with many women coming through my door experiencing symptoms (big or small) I thought it was about time I gave you some of my amazing tips and help on this ever-so-common topic. Even Davina has a book out!
As someone who is also experiencing Menopause I’ve come to realise even more that every women is different in their journey. It’s absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, it’s human nature right? Whether you’re in the stages of peri-menopause or right in the thick of it.
It’s time to continue the conversation.
It’s not just hot flushes and low libido.
How many times have you talked to your other half about why you’re feeling especially anxious. Or why you forgot to take the car in for it’s MOT, it’s perhaps not a sympathetic ear you’ll receive.
So what are the other things ladies are experiencing?
- Dry (irritated/ichy) skin
- Poor Sleep
- Joint Pain
- Anxiety
- Stress (not being able to manage it)
From a holistic viewpoint, I’d love to share with you some of my favourite tips and therapist words of wisdom on ways you can help your symptoms and make your day a little easier.
Find the right scent
Nothing is more calming than lighting a soothing candle and taking time for yourself. I do love the Aromatherapy Associates candles which have a delicious range which can help a variety of moods. The Deep Relax Candle is perfect for calming your busy mind before bedtime. Containing calming Camomile, this is one I light when I’m in need of a chill before slumber along with their Pillow Mist, outlined below.
Aromatherapy oils can help many menopause symptoms, so here are some of my top Aromatherapy scents I use in treatments, which you can use at home too.
Geranium
Can be used in ways of relieving stress, anxiety, fatigue, and tension. It has also been shown to enhance concentration, improve cognitive function, and balance emotions and hormones
Bergamot
An uplifting, refreshing and stimulating scent, perfect for those days when you’re in need of a pick me up!
Frankinsence
Enhances mood by diminishing feelings of stress and anxiety while improving concentration and memory. Frankincense is also a really soulful essential oil and it’s always my go to oil for clarity.
Camomile
The one for calm. Very gentle and lovely as a sedative which works wonderfully well as a hot drink/Camomile tea.
